How to Ship Your Quilt to UsFollow these simple instructions to safely ship your quilt materials to Precision Design Quilting for professional edge-to-edge quilting service.

Before You Ship – Get Your Quote Fill out our order form with the following information:

What to Include in Your Package

  • Quilt top (pressed and ready)
  • Top of quilt marked with a safety pin or tape
  • Backing fabric (at least 4 inches larger than quilt top on all sides) (we offer
  • If binding option is selected, include additional fabric with your shipment
  • Batting (optional – if sending your own)
  • Order form with your contact information and preferences
  • Return shipping label (if you prefer to provide your own)

Packaging Your Quilt

  • Fold your quilt top and backing neatly
  • Place in a plastic bag to protect from moisture
  • Use a sturdy box or shipping bag
  • Include your completed order form inside the package

Our Quilting Process

From Quilt Top to Finished Quilt

At Precision Design Quilting, we strive to make the quilting process simple, clear, and reliable. Whether you are a first-time customer or an experienced quilter, our goal is to ensure your quilt is handled with care and returned beautifully finished.

Step 1: Submit Your Quilt Customers may submit quilts locally or by mail

Before submitting your quilt, please review our Quilt Preparation Guidelines to ensure your quilt top, backing, and batting meet sizing requirements.

When submitting your quilt, you will provide:

  • Quilt top
  • Backing fabric
  • Batting (or select batting provided by PDQ)
  • Design and thread preferences
  • Contact information and special instructions

Step 2: Design Selection

We will work with you to choose the quilting design that best complements your quilt.

Options include:

  • Edge-to-edge digital quilting patterns
  • Pattern scale and density adjustments
  • Thread color recommendations
  • Batting selection if needed

Our goal is to enhance the design of your quilt while maintaining balance and visual flow.

Step 3: Quilt Loading & Quilting

Your quilt top, batting, and backing are carefully loaded onto the longarm quilting frame. Using computer-guided quilting technology, the selected pattern is stitched across the quilt with precision and consistency.

Throughout the process we monitor:

  • Stitch quality
  • Thread tension
  • Pattern alignment

This ensures a smooth, professional finish.

Step 4: Finishing & Inspection

After quilting is complete, your quilt is:

  • Removed from the frame
  • Carefully trimmed
  • Thread tails cleaned
  • Fully inspected for quality

If binding services were requested, binding will be completed at this stage.

Step 5: Return or Pickup

Once finished, you will be notified that your quilt is ready.

Options include:

  • Local pickup
  • Return shipping for mail-in clients

Your quilt will be carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely.
